Swedish power metal trio Evermore returns with a new single and details of their third studio album, arriving March 20 via Scarlet Records.
Evermore continues to prove that melody and intensity can coexist at full strength, a statement the band is ready to make once again.
The band has unveiled “The Illusionist (Raise The Curtain)”, the first single taken from their upcoming third album Mournbraid, set for release on March 20 through Scarlet Records. Accompanied by a lyric video, the track introduces listeners to a darker and more theatrical dimension of the band’s evolving sound.
At its core, “The Illusionist (Raise The Curtain)” dives into the psychology of deception. The song draws a striking parallel between a social manipulator and a fading stage magician, a performer whose illusions and carefully scripted lies slowly lose their power as the audience begins to see through the act. As trust dissolves and relationships collapse, the spotlight ultimately reveals nothing but emptiness. It’s a concept that blends drama and introspection, fitting naturally within Evermore’s melodic yet forceful sonic universe.
Produced by Marcus “Mackan” Alfsson at MWC Studios and mastered by Svante at Chartmakers West, Mournbraid promises a polished and powerful production designed to highlight the band’s signature combination of aggressive guitar work, soaring vocals and memorable hooks. The album artwork, created by Álvaro Valverde (AV Art Ilustración), adds a visual layer to the record’s narrative atmosphere, reinforcing the cinematic tone that has become a defining element of the group’s identity.
As their third full-length release, Mournbraid sees the Swedish trio refining a sound rooted firmly in classic and modern European power metal.
