Melodic power metal continues to thrive far from the mainstream spotlight, and Spain’s Unchosen Ones are quietly building one of the most compelling modern examples of the genre with their upcoming second album Divine Power Flowing, set for release on February 13.
Three years after making a strong impression with their debut Sorrow Turns To Dust, the Galician band returns with a record that expands its sonic vision while remaining firmly rooted in classic heavy and power metal traditions. With Divine Power Flowing, Unchosen Ones deliver a confident and richly layered statement that blends memorable melodies, dynamic arrangements and a clear sense of identity.
The new single “Cursed Without A Cause” offers a striking preview of the album’s direction. As the longest track the band has released to date, the song unfolds as a progressive and melodic journey that highlights the group’s growing compositional ambition. Driven by expressive keyboards, soaring guitar work and a strong melodic foundation, it captures both the cinematic scope and emotional intensity that define the band’s evolving sound.
Across the album’s nine tracks, Unchosen Ones balance epic heavy metal with a distinctly melodic sensibility reminiscent of the genre’s 1990s golden era. Recorded by the band with additional guitar work tracked at SMHQ Studios and mixed and mastered by José Fernando Tercero, Divine Power Flowing presents a polished yet organic production that allows the band’s musical chemistry to shine. The hand-painted cover artwork by illustrator Abigail González reinforces the album’s epic and introspective atmosphere, echoing the sense of strength and transformation that runs throughout the record.
