Iron Kingdom return with a powerful new single, a nationwide tour, and their sixth studio album arriving June 6, 2026, marking a defining moment in the band’s evolution.
Canadian heavy metal warriors Iron Kingdom return with a powerful new chapter, unveiling “Defenders”, the first single from their upcoming album Shadows and Dust, set for release on June 6, 2026.
More than just a new release, the track arrives alongside an extensive Canadian tour and marks a defining moment in the band’s evolution, one shaped by independence, resilience, and a deep commitment to the spirit of heavy metal.
“Defenders” draws inspiration from the heroic defense of the Polish Post Office in Gda?sk on September 1, 1939, where a small group resisted overwhelming forces far beyond what was expected. That sense of endurance and defiance fuels the song’s intensity, transforming it into more than just a track, it becomes a tribute to strength under pressure.
With Shadows and Dust, Iron Kingdom enter a new era, blending their classic heavy metal roots with a darker and more emotionally charged direction. The album explores themes of death, impermanence, hardship and resilience, while expanding the band’s sound with progressive touches and a stronger sense of storytelling.
This release also marks a major milestone in the band’s journey, as it is the first album recorded entirely in their own home studio, a significant step that reinforces their long-standing independent and DIY ethos.
Unlike many modern acts, Iron Kingdom continue to carve their own path without relying on major labels, maintaining full creative control and a direct connection with their audience.

In 2026, the album arrives at a symbolic moment, coinciding not only with the band’s 15th anniversary, but also aligning with the historic date of D-Day — adding another layer of meaning to a record deeply rooted in themes of conflict, endurance and legacy.
