The Mongolian Hunnu rock pioneers expand their global sound with two new songs, following their appearance on Netflix’s One Piece and ahead of an extensive 2026 world tour with Apocalyptica, The Rasmus and more
Mongolian Hunnu rock pioneers The HU return with a powerful double release, unveiling two brand new songs, “The Men” and “Warrior Chant”, both available now via Better Noise Music.
The release offers a strong preview of the band’s next musical chapter, continuing to expand their globally recognized sound, a unique fusion of traditional Mongolian instrumentation, throat singing and modern heavy rock.
“The Men” arrives alongside an official music video and is built around a dynamic blend of traditional string arrangements, groove-driven riffs and hypnotic vocal chants. The track reflects the band’s signature ability to merge cultural heritage with modern intensity, creating a sound that feels both ancient and contemporary.
Frontman Galaa explains the concept behind the song:
“‘The Men’ is written based on Mongolian philosophy of ‘Man’s Inner Spirit’ and the importance of inner strength and kindness of a man to the world. The energy of men should always be reinforced with positivity, strength and generosity… We wanted to share that ancient wisdom with the rest of humanity.”
On the other hand, “Warrior Chant” delivers a heavier and more aggressive sonic approach, driven by a tight metallic backbone and the band’s unmistakable rhythmic identity. The track further expands The HU’s evolving sound while staying rooted in the elements that have defined their rise.
Speaking about the song, Galaa adds:
“‘Warrior Chant’ has our signature rhythm that fans fell in love with. Our third album has a bit of everything rhythm-wise, and we see that as part of expanding the Hunnu Rock genre.”
Formed in Mongolia, The HU have become a global phenomenon by blending traditional instruments such as the morin khuur (horsehead fiddle) with heavy guitars and tribal rhythms. Their music has connected with international audiences through albums like The Gereg and Rumble of Thunder, as well as high-profile collaborations and placements across entertainment platforms.
The band recently appeared on the track “Pray to the Sun” from the Netflix series One Piece, further expanding their reach into global pop culture. Their music has also been featured in major franchises such as Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, reinforcing their crossover appeal beyond the traditional rock audience.
In addition to new music, The HU are set to hit the road throughout 2026, joining forces with Apocalyptica for a major North American tour alongside The Rasmus, followed by extensive U.S. dates with Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson, and a full European and UK run later in the year.
