The Pennsylvania metalcore band return via Fearless Records with a new album featuring guest appearances from The Devil Wears Prada, Polaris, and Make Them Suffer
American metalcore band August Burns Red continue to expand their legacy with “Season of Surrender”, a new studio album that marks another chapter in their evolution within the genre.
Set for release on June 5, 2026 via Fearless Records, the album reflects the band’s ongoing commitment to pushing their sound while maintaining the technical precision and intensity that have defined their career for more than two decades.
The track “The Nameless”, presented alongside a lyric video, introduces the album’s direction through a combination of intricate rhythms, aggressive guitar work, and a direct vocal approach. The song emphasizes the band’s core identity, balancing complexity with impact.
Bassist Dustin Davidson describes the track as:
“A hard-hitting, heavy bruiser that doesn't let up for one moment… it showcases our roots and the future path of where we're heading.”
Vocalist Jake Luhrs adds:
“‘The Nameless’ is about not wasting your life away for the sake of acceptance and comfortability… sometimes it takes detaching from what you’ve been told in order to live a life you are proud of.”
These statements reflect both the musical intensity and the thematic direction of the album, which explores identity, personal growth, and internal conflict.
“Season of Surrender” also features guest appearances from Mike Hranica of The Devil Wears Prada, Jamie Hails of Polaris, and members of Make Them Suffer, reinforcing the band’s connection within the modern metalcore scene.
With a career that includes multiple Billboard Top 10 placements, Grammy nominations, and extensive touring, August Burns Red continue to position themselves as one of the defining acts within the genre.
Rockum has a direct history with August Burns Red, including a 2021 interview conducted by Gino Alache with guitarist JB Brubaker, where the band’s “Guardians Sessions” and creative direction were explored in depth.
