The Icelandic power metal band expand their fantasy-driven sound with a new album and a track featuring Majestica’s Tommy Johansson
Icelandic heavy metal band Power Paladin continue to develop their sound with “Beyond The Reach Of Enchantment”, a new studio album that builds on the foundations established in their debut.
Released on March 27, 2026 via ROAR, the album presents a collection of songs shaped by classic heavy metal influences while maintaining a modern production approach.
The track “The Arcane Tower”, accompanied by a music video, features a guest appearance by Tommy Johansson of Majestica, adding an additional melodic and technical dimension to the composition. The song blends fast-paced structures, orchestral arrangements, and layered vocals, reinforcing the band’s approach to epic storytelling.
Vocalist Atli Guðlaugsson describes the track as:
“A high octane song featuring Tommy Johansson… full of epic orchestrals, choirs and drama, exploring the mysterious arcane tower and its inhabitants.”
Musically, the album draws from influences such as Iron Maiden, Dio, and Helloween, combining traditional power metal elements with a sense of narrative and atmosphere.
“Beyond The Reach Of Enchantment” follows the band’s debut “With the Magic of Windfyre Steel”, expanding their sound through a more refined production and a stronger compositional direction. The album was mixed by Haukur Hannes and mastered by Frank de Jong, resulting in a sound that balances clarity and power.
Across its eight tracks, the album continues to explore themes of fantasy, adventure, and mythology, reinforcing the band’s identity within modern power metal.
