The Detroit rock icons reinterpret the MC5 classic as part of Suzi Quatro’s new album “Freedom”
Rock legends Suzi Quatro and Alice Cooper come together to reinterpret “Kick Out The Jams”, the iconic track originally released by MC5 in 1969, bringing a new perspective to one of the most influential songs in rock history.
The track is featured on Quatro’s album “Freedom”, released on March 27, 2026, marking a new chapter in her career while maintaining a strong connection to the roots of Detroit rock.
The accompanying music video, directed by Alexander Preston and filmed at Rustbelt Studios in Detroit, reinforces the song’s legacy through a visual approach that connects past and present.
Originally, “Kick Out The Jams” became a defining statement of raw energy and rebellion, helping to shape the identity of late 1960s rock. In this reinterpretation, Quatro and Cooper bring their own experience and style, preserving the spirit of the original while adapting it to a modern production context.
The collaboration also highlights the shared Detroit heritage of both artists, reinforcing a musical lineage that continues to influence generations of rock musicians.
