The UK technical death metal band introduce a new single ahead of their album “Denigration,” set for release on May 8 via Metal Blade Records
UK technical death metal band Ingested return with “Watch You Fold”, a new single featuring John Gallagher of Dying Fetus, offering a first look into their upcoming full-length album “Denigration”.
The album is scheduled for release on May 8 via Metal Blade Records, marking a new chapter for a band that has spent nearly two decades building a reputation as one of the UK’s most uncompromising forces in extreme metal.
With “Denigration”, Ingested continue to evolve beyond their origins in slam death metal, incorporating a more dynamic and expansive songwriting approach while maintaining the precision and brutality that define their sound.
At the core of the band remain founding members Sean Hynes (guitars, vocals) and Lyn Jeffs (drums), joined by Andrew Virrueta (guitars, vocals) and Thomas O’Malley (bass), forming a lineup that delivers one of the most focused and aggressive releases in the band’s catalog.
The new single “Watch You Fold” reflects both lyrical intensity and musical precision. The band describe the track as a direct confrontation:
“A character assassination in slow motion… aimed at those who hide behind legacy and respectability while exploiting others.”
Musically, the track draws from mid-2000s brutal death metal, combining technical execution with atmosphere and groove. The inclusion of John Gallagher reinforces that connection, bringing a vocal presence closely tied to the genre’s defining era.
Produced by Nico Beninato at The Arch Studios in the UK, the album presents Ingested at a point of both refinement and expansion, supported visually by artwork from Giannis Nakos of Remedy Art Design.
In addition to Gallagher, the album features guest appearances from Damonteal Harris (PeelingFlesh), Skyler Conder (Cell) and Kyle Medina (Bodysnatcher), adding further depth to the record’s scope.
