The alternative emo-rock duo revisit a standout track from “Severed Heart City” with a new collaboration ahead of their U.S. tour
Irish alternative emo-rock duo Greywind present a new acoustic version of “Waterfall”, featuring Nick Thomas of The Spill Canvas, offering a reinterpreted take on one of the standout tracks from their album “Severed Heart City”.
The release follows the strong response to the original version of “Waterfall”, which contributed to a significant increase in the band’s streaming numbers and audience reach across digital platforms.
This acoustic version introduces a more stripped-down approach, allowing the song’s melodic and emotional core to take center stage while incorporating a new vocal dynamic through the collaboration.
Vocalist Steph O’Sullivan commented on the track:
“We’re excited to have Nick Thomas on this version of ‘Waterfall.’ It was interesting to hear how another vocalist interpreted the song, and what he brought to it.”
The track builds on the foundation established by “Severed Heart City”, an album produced, engineered and mixed by Sam Guaiana, known for his work with Neck Deep, Silverstein and Holding Absence.
Across the record, Greywind draw from emo and alternative rock influences, with references to artists such as Jimmy Eat World, Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance, combining melodic structure with a dramatic and expressive tone.
Tracks like “Swerve”, “Acid Rain” and “Waterfall” have contributed to the band’s growing presence across radio and digital platforms, reinforcing their position within the modern emo and alternative scene.
