The French post-metal quartet expand their sound and identity with a new album set for release on June 19 via Pelagic Records
French post-metal band Lost in Kyiv present “Burst”, a new single accompanied by an official video, offering the first insight into their upcoming album “We’re All Going To Be Fine”, scheduled for release on June 19, 2026 via Pelagic Records.
The track reflects a shift toward a heavier and more direct sound, while maintaining the atmospheric and cinematic qualities that have defined the band’s identity over the years.
According to the band:
“‘Burst’ represents this new chapter… more brutal and direct, while keeping the emotional depth that defines us.”
The upcoming album marks a significant evolution for Lost in Kyiv, expanding their sonic framework through a more refined balance between organic instrumentation and electronic elements, while embracing a darker and more immersive approach.
Lyrically, “We’re All Going To Be Fine” explores themes centered on mental health, inner conflict and human fragility, drawing influence from the work of Carl Gustav Jung and cinematic references such as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Melancholia.
The band described the conceptual direction of the album:
“We wanted to explore the relationship we have with ourselves… the idea that we can become our own worst enemy.”
Musically, the record emphasizes dynamic contrast, where minimalism and silence interact with dense, layered climaxes, creating a structure that unfolds with architectural precision.
This release also introduces drummer Jérémie Legrand, whose presence contributes to a stronger rhythmic foundation, reinforcing the interaction between mechanical precision and human expression that defines the band’s sound.
Beyond the music, the album represents a shift in identity, as the band adopts the spelling “Kyiv”, reflecting both a cultural perspective and a broader evolution in their artistic direction.
“We see this album as the beginning of a new version of the band… a louder and more metal-oriented direction.”
