The Greek black metal band expand their sound ahead of their third album, set for release on May 8 via Metal Blade Records
Greek black metal band Yoth Iria present “Blessed Be He Who Enters”, a new single accompanied by an official video, taken from their upcoming album “Gone With The Devil”, scheduled for release on May 8 via Metal Blade Records.
The track reflects the band’s approach to Hellenic black metal, combining melodic structures, ritualistic atmosphere and a balance between mid-paced intensity and more explosive passages.
According to the band, the song’s lyrical direction centers on themes of strength, individual will and resistance:
“These lyrics stand for pride and strength in adversity… for those who refuse to bow and walk with fire in their spirit.”
The upcoming album represents a continuation of the path established on “As The Flame Withers” (2021) and “Blazing Inferno” (2024), while also introducing new elements that expand the band’s sonic palette.
Musically, Yoth Iria integrate influences from classic rock, heavy metal and extreme genres, while maintaining a core identity rooted in darkness, melody and a distinctly ritualistic character.
The band emphasize that their approach is not limited by strict genre boundaries, but guided by atmosphere and intent:
“Black metal is at the core, but anything that carries darkness and mystique can become part of our sound.”
Beyond its musical direction, “Gone With The Devil” reflects a broader thematic exploration of modern existence, where uncertainty and tension become central sources of inspiration.
The band describe this perspective as a reflection of the current era:
“We live in a strange, uncertain time… that tension alone fuels creativity.”
Historically, Yoth Iria are closely connected to the foundations of Greek black metal, with bassist Jim Mutilator having roots in seminal acts such as Rotting Christ and Varathron, positioning the band within a lineage that helped shape the genre’s identity.
