The new single brings together Atreyu and the Soulfly frontman as the band prepares to release what they describe as their heaviest album to date
Atreyu return with “Children Of Light”, a new single featuring Max Cavalera, offering a first look at their upcoming album ‘The End Is Not The End’, scheduled for release on April 24, 2026 via Spinefarm.
The track brings together two distinct forces within heavy music, with Cavalera’s presence reinforcing a primal and aggressive direction, inspired in part by the legacy of Sepultura.
On the new single, the band commented:
“‘Children Of Light’ was created with a primal spirit in mind… we wanted Max involved, and we’re honored to share this song with a legend.”
Cavalera, known for his work with Soulfly, recently discussed the vision behind his latest album “Chama” in a Rockum interview, where he explored themes of tribal identity and spiritual resilience in his current work:

The band’s evolution has also been documented on Rockum through a past interview with guitarist Dan Jacobs, where topics such as lineup changes and creative direction were already shaping their identity:

‘The End Is Not The End’ marks Atreyu’s tenth studio album, described by the band as their heaviest and most adventurous release to date.
Frontman Brandon Saller reflected on the band’s identity:
“We didn’t really fit anywhere… but that’s what made it work. We carved our own path.”
Much of the album was developed during creative sessions in Tokyo and later in San Juan Island, where contrasting environments helped shape its direction.
The record, produced by Matt Pauling, blends melodic elements with aggressive structures, combining cinematic atmospheres with a raw, driving intensity.
The band’s recent material has also been featured on the Rockum Radio Show, where previous single “All For You” entered rotation as part of a broader selection of current releases:

Their 2023 release “The Beautiful Dark of Life” further expanded their presence, achieving a Top 10 position on Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart and accumulating tens of millions of streams.
