New York death metal legends Immolation continue to expand their legacy with the release of their twelfth studio album “Descent”, accompanied by the unveiling of the video for “Bend Towards The Dark”, a track that reflects the band’s evolving sonic intensity.

The album arrives as part of a new chapter in the band’s career, reinforcing their position as one of the most consistent and influential forces within extreme metal.

Describing the track, the band stated:

“It has just about every element you would expect from IMMOLATION… intense and heavy, yet epic and almost orchestral at times.”

THE ALBUM “DESCENT”
“Descent” was recorded across multiple locations, with guitars, bass and vocals tracked at Jpass Music, while drums were recorded at Mercinary Studios.

The album was produced in collaboration with long-time engineer Zack Ohren, who also handled mixing and mastering, delivering a production that balances brutality with clarity.

Visually, the album artwork was created by Eliran Kantor, continuing a long-standing aesthetic identity associated with the band.

Across more than three decades, Immolation have maintained a distinctive voice within death metal, combining technical precision with a dark, atmospheric approach that sets them apart from their contemporaries.

“Descent” reinforces that identity, presenting a work that expands their sound while remaining firmly rooted in the foundations they helped define.

Through the release of “Descent” and a demanding tour schedule across North America and international festivals, Immolation continue to bring their sound directly to audiences, reaffirming their presence on both stage and studio in 2026.
