The UK band unveil their new album alongside a video for “Find Another Way,” shaped by themes of grief, identity and emotional recovery
UK alternative metal band As Everything Unfolds present their new album “Did You Ask To Be Set Free?”, released via Century Media Records, alongside a new video for “Find Another Way”.
The release represents a deeply personal work shaped by a period of significant emotional upheaval, combining introspective lyricism with a broadened musical direction that moves beyond the band’s earlier metalcore foundations.
Frontwoman Charlie Rolfe described the album as a reflection of both personal growth and loss, following a period that began with stability before shifting dramatically due to life-changing events.
“This album became a process of dealing with trauma, grief and rediscovering identity,” she explained.
During the writing process, the band faced the loss of drummer Jamie Gowers, an event that reshaped the emotional and sonic direction of the record.
Rather than abandoning the project, the band continued writing, transforming personal experiences into a cohesive narrative that explores grief, escapism, and self-reconstruction.
The album’s focus track “Find Another Way” reflects the process of letting go and adapting to new realities.
Rolfe explained:
“It’s about accepting what you can’t control and learning to move forward.”
The song balances emotional vulnerability with a sense of progression, aligning with the album’s broader themes of transformation.
