The Canadian band introduce their second full-length release, due June 26 via The Flenser
Canadian band Truck Violence have announced their second full-length album “The Weathervane Is My Body”, set for release on June 26 via The Flenser, alongside the debut of the video for the lead single “New Jesus”.
The record follows their debut album “Violence” and represents a continuation of the band’s evolving sound and identity.
Formed after relocating from the Alberta prairies to Montreal, guitarist and banjoist Paul Lecours and vocalist Karsyn Henderson developed the project following years of experimentation.
The two grew up in a town of approximately 600 people, graduating in a class of nine, and by the age of fifteen were already running a local studio and radio station.
The band lineup was completed with:
Chris Clegg — Bass
Thomas Hart — Percussion
“The Weathervane Is My Body” is the band’s first release with The Flenser, and was developed entirely in-house.
All elements of the album (including composition, recording, mixing, and visual presentation) were produced by the band themselves, reflecting a fully independent approach.
The band’s music combines elements drawn from:
hardcore
folk
punk
shoegaze
sludge
THE SINGLE “NEW JESUS”
The first single “New Jesus” is presented alongside a video directed by Kirill Sommer.
According to Karsyn Henderson, the track addresses contemporary political and cultural tensions, referencing themes such as post-truth narratives and shifting ideological landscapes.
