The New Jersey death metal band unveil a new single from their upcoming third full-length, due May 29 via Pulverised Records
New Jersey death metal band Funebrarum have released “From Rotting Burial Shrouds”, the second single from their upcoming third full-length album “Beckoning the Void of Eternal Silence”, scheduled for release on May 29 via Pulverised Records.
The track follows the previously released single “Anhela Odor Mortuorum (The Adepts)”.
The band describe “From Rotting Burial Shrouds” as a track that channels the essence of their early sound, moving between grinding blasts, mid tempo thrash, and slow passages of doom within a single composition.
According to the band, the song reflects their established style, combining different tempos and structures within a single composition.
Lyrically, the track explores themes of ancient forces emerging from subterranean tombs, with imagery centered around decay, resurrection, and destruction.
“Beckoning the Void of Eternal Silence” was recorded between Portland, Oregon and Edison, New Jersey with engineer Stephen De Acutis.
The album follows years of writing across continents, as well as a period of inactivity during the pandemic.
