The duo featuring Stephen Brodsky will release their fourth album May 15 alongside July east coast shows
New Idea Society, the duo formed by Stephen Brodsky (Cave In, Mutoid Man) and Mike Law (Wild Arrows, Eulcid), have released the single and video “Nightbirds”, taken from their upcoming album “Fire On The Hill”, scheduled for release on May 15, 2026.
“Nightbirds” is presented as part of the album’s broader emotional scope, reflecting themes of connection and shared experience.
The track developed through the duo’s collaborative writing process, where ideas were exchanged and refined over time, shaping both the structure and final arrangement of the song.
“Fire On The Hill” will be the band’s fourth full-length release and continues a working relationship between Brodsky and Law that dates back to their early years.
For this album, the duo adopted a more detailed and collaborative approach, developing material through an extended process of exchanging demos and refining compositions across multiple sessions.
Thematically, the album focuses on different aspects of emotional relationships, exploring connection, loss, and continuity through its songwriting.
