ANA Release 'Shadow of Life' Video and Announce 'Motivated By Death' Album

Australian symphonic metal band ANA have released the single and video “Shadow of Life”, taken from their upcoming album “Motivated By Death”, scheduled for release on May 29, 2026 via Eclipse Records.

“Shadow of Life” is presented as the second single from the album and is accompanied by a music video directed by Peter Coulson, filmed at Koukei Studio in Kilsyth South.

The visual concept draws from a 1990s aesthetic, incorporating elements inspired by The Matrix, including wardrobe choices influenced by leather coats and sunglasses associated with that era.

According to vocalist Anna Khristenko, the video was designed to contrast the song’s thematic content, presenting a more dynamic and accessible visual approach.

“Motivated By Death” continues the band’s combination of symphonic metal and modern production, shaped around a visual and musical identity they describe as “couture metal.”

The album was produced by Anna Khristenko and Josh Mak, engineered and mixed by Chris Themelco at Monolith Studios, and mastered by Thomas “Plec” Johansson at The Panicroom Studio.

The material explores themes connected to life, death, and the perception of time, with “Shadow of Life” addressing the idea of impermanence as part of the human experience.
