The Boston stoner rock band will release their sixth album May 15 via Blacklight Media and Metal Blade Records
Boston stoner/fuzz rock band Gozu have released the single “Corinthian Leatherface”, taken from their upcoming album “Gozu VI”, scheduled for release on May 15 via Blacklight Media in partnership with Metal Blade Records.
“Corinthian Leatherface” reflects the band’s approach to combining different musical influences, including elements drawn from harmony-driven styles and riff-based structures.
According to vocalist and guitarist Marc Gaffney, the track served as a creative outlet during the writing process.
“Gozu VI” is the band’s sixth studio album and features eight tracks recorded over an extended period of writing.
The album was produced and mixed by Benny Grotto at Mad Oak Studios in Boston.
The material reflects a more direct and guitar-driven approach, while maintaining elements associated with the band’s sound, including groove-based riffs and melodic vocal structures.
Across multiple releases, Gozu have developed a style combining stoner rock, fuzz-driven guitar tones, and melodic elements influenced by classic rock traditions.
