The Mortemia project led by Morten Veland (Sirenia, Tristania) continues its collaborative cover series with a new reinterpretation featuring Lyriel’s Jessica Thierjung
MORTEMIA have released the official video for “Send Me An Angel”, featuring Jessica Thierjung of Lyriel.
The track is part of “The Cover Collab Sessions”, a series of 12 cover songs featuring a different guest singer on each track .
The release continues the project’s current cycle, as previously reported by Rockum in Morten Veland's Mortemia Present ‘Take On Me’ Featuring Marcela Bovio from ‘The Cover Collab Sessions’, while also building on earlier material such as Mortemia release new song and video featuring Linda Toni Grahn of Anima Veil and ex Follow the Cipher.
The project was also referenced in At The Gates, Amberian Dawn, Atreyu and Moonlight Haze Featured on Gino Alache's Rockum Radio Show, where a previous reinterpretation was included in the program’s playlist.
“Send Me An Angel” is a reinterpretation of the original track by Real Life, reworked through MORTEMIA’s symphonic metal framework .
The arrangement preserves the melodic core of the original while introducing layered instrumentation and a darker tonal atmosphere.
Guest vocalist Jessica Thierjung delivers a performance that combines the character of the original song with a new interpretation aligned with the project’s style .
“The Cover Collab Sessions” is the third collaborative chapter of Morten Veland’s work under MORTEMIA.

Both previous series featured 12 songs with 12 different guest vocalists, establishing the collaborative structure that continues in the current project .
