The Canadian rock band introduce new material produced by Tyler Connolly and Chris Baseford, continuing their current recording cycle
THEORY OF A DEADMAN have released their new single “Barricade”, accompanied by an official visualizer, marking the band’s return with new material.
The track was produced by Chris Baseford and Tyler Connolly, mixed by Baseford alongside Irene Genova at Lucky Dog Sound, and mastered by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound.
“Barricade” is built around a restrained verse structure that develops into a more expansive chorus, maintaining the band’s established balance between melody and guitar-driven arrangements.
According to vocalist and guitarist Tyler Connolly, the song addresses the tension of a one-sided relationship, focusing on the frustration that comes from emotional distance and lack of response.
The concept of the title was drawn from a recurring visual element in the band’s live shows, where barricades separate the audience from the stage.
Over the course of their career, THEORY OF A DEADMAN have established a presence within modern rock through a consistent run of releases and chart performance.
Their catalog includes tracks such as “Santa Monica,” “Hate My Life,” “Not Meant To Be,” and “Rx (Medicate)”, the latter becoming their most commercially successful release and receiving industry recognition.
The band has also achieved multiple entries on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart, including several number one singles, alongside chart placements in both the United States and Canada.
The release of “Barricade” continues the band’s recording activity, maintaining their established songwriting approach while introducing new material within their current cycle.
