The Swedish band continue building their sci-fi narrative ahead of their upcoming album via PERCEPTION
METALITE have presented the official video for their new single “Starchild”, continuing the rollout for their upcoming concept album “Discovery”.
The release follows the band’s recent signing with PERCEPTION – A Division Of Reigning Phoenix Music, as well as the earlier introduction of “Our Time Has Come,” further outlining the direction of the new material.
“Starchild” builds on the band’s established sound, combining melodic structures with guitar-driven arrangements and electronic elements that reinforce their futuristic identity.
The track forms part of the conceptual framework behind “Discovery,” contributing to the broader narrative developed across the album.
According to guitarist and producer Edwin Premberg, the song was designed as a central piece within that concept, maintaining the band’s core melodic approach while introducing heavier elements.
The accompanying video extends the visual dimension of “Starchild,” translating the album’s science fiction themes into a visual format that aligns with the band’s evolving aesthetic.
“Discovery” continues METALITE’s trajectory into conceptual songwriting, following the direction established in previous releases.

Each release has expanded their blend of melodic metal and electronic influences, shaping a consistent sci-fi-oriented identity.
Formed in 2015 by Edwin Premberg and Emma Bensing, the band entered a new phase with the arrival of vocalist Erica Ohlsson in 2019.
In 2024, drummer Erik Junttila joined the lineup, marking a further step in the band’s development and live presence.
METALITE have toured extensively in recent years, sharing stages with acts such as PAIN, LEAVES' EYES, and THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA, while also appearing at festivals including Sweden Rock and Masters of Rock.
With “Starchild,” METALITE continue shaping the narrative of “Discovery,” extending their concept-driven approach through both sound and visual presentation.
