The Los Angeles duo present the second single from their first full-length release, exploring themes of identity, memory, and emotional independence
Tangients have released the new single and video “Void”, the second preview from their debut full-length album “Embers”, scheduled for release on May 1.
Based in Los Angeles, the duo is formed by Chelsea Ray and Be Hussey, who have previously released standalone singles including “White Foam” (2018) and “Hazel” (2019).
“Void” explores themes of impermanence, emotional independence, and the tension between internal experience and outward expression.
According to Chelsea Ray, the song addresses the contrast between how individuals present themselves and how they feel internally, focusing on the process of developing autonomy and confronting emotional uncertainty.
The composition combines layered guitar textures with a melodic structure shaped by ambient and atmospheric elements, while maintaining a focus on vocal delivery.
The accompanying video extends the track’s thematic direction through visual elements centered on contrast and reflection, incorporating natural environments and mirrored imagery to reinforce the idea of internal conflict and transformation.
“Embers” is presented as the debut full-length release from Tangients, focusing on themes such as memory, loss, and resilience.
The album represents a continuation of the duo’s earlier work, expanding their sound into a more cohesive and structured format while maintaining the stylistic elements established in previous releases.
