The Montreal band present new material from their upcoming album, recorded at Uplift Recording Studios and produced by Kevin Jardine
Fatal Switch have announced their new album “Black Sky Anthem”, scheduled for release on June 26, 2026, alongside the release of the single “Overman x Scott Storch”.
The album marks the first time the band has written and recorded as a unified lineup following the restructuring of the project led by Steve Tobin.
“Overman x Scott Storch” introduces material from “Black Sky Anthem”, incorporating elements tied to transformation and self-confrontation.
The track features collaboration with Scott Storch, whose production background includes work with artists such as The Roots, Dr. Dre, Beyoncé, 50 Cent, and others.
“Black Sky Anthem” was developed from a writing process that produced more than 50 songs, which were refined into the final selection.
The album was recorded at Uplift Recording Studios and produced by Kevin Jardine, known for work involving members of Korn, Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit, 311, In Flames, Cypress Hill, Beastie Boys, Faith No More, Mastodon, Run-DMC, Anthrax, and Sepultura.
Lyrically, the album addresses themes including systemic structures, personal conflict, grief, and identity. Individual tracks explore specific subjects such as betrayal, self-destruction, and transformation, while the track “Apex” centers on resilience.
The album rollout has included earlier releases such as:
“B-R-E-A-K” — addressing themes of conflict and confrontation
“Apex” — focused on resilience and recovery
Fatal Switch originated in Montreal and combines elements of nu-metal, rapcore, and post-hardcore within its sound.
Their debut album “Doctors & Demons” introduced the project through underground distribution, including radio rotation on Stingray Loud, over 133,000 streams, and appearances at events such as Canadian Music Week and Indie Week.
The band has also contributed commissioned material, including a theme for Apex Wrestling.
