The Lithuanian band present the second single from their upcoming conceptual album, set for release on August 28
Black Spikes have released the new single and video “Revana”, the second preview from their upcoming album “Ydos”, scheduled for release on August 28.
The release follows earlier material from the album, continuing the presentation of the band’s second full-length record as previously covered by Rockum in Black Spikes Announce ‘Ydos’ Album After Signing with Napalm Records and Share ‘Aurea’.
Formed in Lithuania, Black Spikes have developed a conceptual approach to songwriting, combining progressive metal structures with narrative-driven themes centered on human behavior and internal conflict.
“Revana” represents the concept of revenge within the broader narrative of “Ydos”, where each track personifies a specific human vice.
According to the band, the song explores how revenge prolongs conflict rather than resolving it, maintaining a continuous cycle rather than closure.
The accompanying video draws from historical references to witch trials in 17th century Lithuania, depicting persecution and social exclusion through a narrative framework aligned with the song’s theme.
“Ydos” is a conceptual album in which each track represents a different human flaw, forming a continuous narrative across the record.
The material combines progressive metal with electronic elements while maintaining a structured conceptual framework. The album includes ten tracks, each tied to a specific aspect of the overarching theme.
