The Swedish progressive metal band continue the rollout surrounding their fifteenth studio album
Evergrey have released the new single and video “Leaving The Emptiness”, continuing the rollout for their upcoming fifteenth studio album “Architects Of A New Weave”, scheduled for release on June 5 via Napalm Records.
The release follows previous material from the album as previously covered by Rockum in Evergrey Release 'The World Is On Fire' and Introduce Stephen Platt Ahead of New Album and Iron Maiden Tour.
More than three decades into their career, the Gothenburg band continue combining progressive metal structures with melodic and atmospheric elements.
“Leaving The Emptiness” presents a contrast between energetic melodic structures and lyrical themes centered on confronting personal struggles and emotional conflict.
According to vocalist and guitarist Tom S. Englund, the song explores the process of facing painful experiences directly instead of avoiding them, while intentionally balancing uplifting musical arrangements with darker lyrical content.
The release is accompanied by an official music video expanding the visual identity surrounding the album cycle.
“Architects Of A New Weave” was produced by Tom S. Englund and Vikram Shankar, with mixing handled by Adam “Nolly” Getgood.
The album includes tracks such as “The World Is On Fire”, “Leaving The Emptiness”, “Heaven”, and the title track “Architects Of The New Weave”.
Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquillity, The Halo Effect, Grand Cadaver, and Cemetery Skyline contributes guest vocals on “A Burning Flame”.
The release also includes a bonus album featuring the tracks “Heights”, “One Heart”, an album mix of “OXYGEN!”, a demo version of “Longing”, instrumental versions of new songs, and a live version of “Falling From The Sun”.
