The second full-length release from the band in 2026 continues exploring themes tied to emotional collapse and human suffering
Converge have released the new single and video “Doom In Bloom”, continuing the rollout for their upcoming album “Hum Of Hurt”, scheduled for release on June 5.
The album follows “Love Is Not Enough” as the band’s second full-length release of 2026 and expands on themes connected to emotional deterioration, psychological tension, and the broader human condition.
The album was previously introduced by Rockum in Converge Announce New Album 'Hum Of Hurt' and Share Title Track Video.
“Doom In Bloom” combines abrasive guitar work, rhythmic intensity, and emotionally charged vocal delivery while continuing the conceptual direction of the album.
According to vocalist Jacob Bannon, the lyrics reflect middle-aged introspection and the difficulty of escaping destructive personal cycles, while also addressing the possibility of endurance and survival.
The accompanying video extends the visual identity surrounding the album cycle.
“Hum Of Hurt” draws conceptual inspiration from the real-world phenomenon known as “The Hum,” a persistent low-frequency sound reported in locations around the world.
Within the album’s narrative framework, the phenomenon is reimagined as a manifestation of collective human suffering and emotional unrest.
The album was recorded and mixed by guitarist Kurt Ballou at God City in Salem, Massachusetts, with engineering assistance from Zach Weeks.
Artwork for the release was developed collaboratively between Jacob Bannon and UK artist Thomas Hooper, combining references to EKG signals, seismographic imagery, and the five classical elements known as Pancha Bhuta.
