The New York hardcore veterans return through Nuclear Blast with their tenth studio album and a new anthem dedicated to hardcore’s next generation
Madball have announced the new studio album “Not Your Kingdom”, scheduled for release on July 24, 2026 through Nuclear Blast, while simultaneously unveiling the first single and official video “Rebel Kids”.
The release marks the tenth studio album from the longtime New York hardcore band and continues a career that has spanned multiple generations of hardcore, metalcore, and crossover audiences.
According to vocalist Freddy Cricien, “Rebel Kids” was the first song written for the album nearly two years ago and ultimately became the creative catalyst for the material that followed.
Musically, the track combines Madball’s classic groove-heavy hardcore style with an anthemic structure aimed at both longtime followers and younger listeners entering the hardcore scene.
The accompanying video was co-directed by Freddy Cricien and Dave Causa, with Causa additionally handling filming and editing duties.
On “Not Your Kingdom”, Madball continue exploring themes of survival, loyalty, social frustration, and personal struggle while presenting some of Freddy Cricien’s most introspective lyrics to date.
The album was recorded at The Boneyard Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, with additional interludes tracked by Jeff “Stress” Davis and Chuck Treece at Chop Shop Studios.
Production and engineering duties were handled by Andrew Baylis, Aiden Thompson, and Grady Saxman, while mixing and mastering were completed by Lee Rouse.
The cover artwork features photography by legendary photographer Cornell Capa, courtesy of Magnum Photos and the Cornell Capa Estate.

Since emerging from the New York hardcore scene during the late 1980s, Madball have remained one of the genre’s most enduring and influential acts, helping shape the evolution of hardcore across multiple eras.
The band’s mixture of street-level aggression, metallic groove, gang vocals, and hardcore authenticity allowed them to bridge traditional NYHC with later generations of heavy music audiences without abandoning their roots.
With “Not Your Kingdom,” Madball continue reinforcing the direct, confrontational, and community-driven identity that has kept the band relevant across decades of hardcore history while still connecting naturally with a new generation of listeners entering the scene.
