The Swedish melodic metal pioneers continue the rollout surrounding their tenth studio album arriving this month through Sound Pollution
Narnia have unveiled the new single and official video “Jerusalem”, continuing the promotional cycle surrounding the band’s upcoming tenth studio album “X”, scheduled for release on May 29, 2026 through Sound Pollution.
The release arrives during the Swedish melodic metal band’s 30th anniversary year and further expands the musical direction introduced through earlier singles connected to the album.
Rockum previously covered the new era in Narnia Announce 'X' Album Marking 30 Years and Their Tenth Studio Release and Narnia Share 'Oceanwide' Single and Introduce 'X' Album Ahead of 30th Anniversary.
The band was also previously featured in Rockum through the exclusive interview Christian Liljegren on Flames of Fire, The Waymaker and Narnia – Interview with Gino Alache.
“Jerusalem” presents a more progressive and atmospheric dimension of Narnia’s melodic metal sound while preserving the band’s recognizable combination of harmony-driven songwriting and uplifting choruses.
The track incorporates layered vocal arrangements and subtle progressive influences, with guitarist CJ Grimmark and bassist Jonatan “Jono” Samuelsson additionally contributing lead vocal passages alongside longtime vocalist Christian Liljegren.
The official music video was animated and edited by Jonatan Samuelsson and visually reflects themes connected to faith, perseverance, and spiritual endurance.
“X” represents Narnia’s tenth studio album and commemorates nearly three decades of activity within the international melodic metal scene.
While the previous album “Ghost Town” (2023) reinforced the band’s classic melodic power metal foundation, the new release expands into more progressive territory while maintaining the group’s core identity.
Songs including “Oceanwide,” “Every Breath,” and “Heavens Calling” emphasize melodic hooks and arena-scale choruses, while tracks such as “God Under Fire” and “Jerusalem” explore more layered arrangements and broader musical dynamics.
The album additionally reconnects with earlier moments in the band’s catalog through:
“The Man From Nazareth Pt. II” — continuation of a song from “Enter the Gate” (2006)
“The War That Tore The Land (Reprise)” — reflective continuation linked to “From Darkness to Light” (2019)
According to guitarist CJ Grimmark, the album represents both the band’s origins and future direction while becoming one of their heaviest and most dynamic releases to date.

Since emerging during the 1990s Scandinavian melodic metal movement, Narnia have maintained a long-running presence within melodic power metal through albums blending European metal traditions, neoclassical guitar work, progressive elements, and spiritually themed lyrical concepts.
Across multiple lineup eras and stylistic evolutions, the band became one of Sweden’s most recognizable melodic metal exports within the Christian and melodic power metal scenes.
With “Jerusalem” and the upcoming release of “X,” Narnia continue balancing melodic power metal tradition with progressive experimentation while celebrating three decades of activity through one of the most ambitious chapters in the band’s catalog.
