The progressive rock legends continue the rollout surrounding ‘Aurora’ while expanding the modern era of the band through InsideOutMusic and Sony Music
YES have unveiled the new single “Turnaround Situation”, continuing the promotional cycle surrounding the band’s upcoming 24th studio album “Aurora”, scheduled for release on June 12, 2026 through InsideOutMusic and Sony Music.
The track arrives alongside a new visualizer created by Matt Hutchings, who also directed the visual component for the previously released title track “Aurora.”
Rockum previously covered the beginning of the album rollout in YES Announce 24th Studio Album 'Aurora' and Introduce Title Track Video.
Additional Rockum coverage connected to the band includes YES and Going for the One: The Album That Marked Rick Wakeman's Return and Reconnected Progressive Rock With Emotion and YES Announces The Fragile Tour 2025 The Album Series.
According to vocalist Jon Davison, “Turnaround Situation” reflects themes involving conscience, personal accountability, redemption, and emotional clarity.
Davison described the composition as both confessional and reflective, exploring the emotional tension between temporary gratification and long-term personal peace.
Musically, the song continues the melodic and progressive direction surrounding “Aurora,” balancing modern production with the band’s long-established symphonic rock identity.
“Aurora” represents the band’s 24th studio album and emerged through a collaborative writing process developed shortly after the conclusion of the “Classic Tales of YES” tour in 2024.
Rather than working through traditional long-term studio sessions, the band embraced a decentralized creative process involving home studio development, remote collaboration, and gradual arrangement refinement.
Guitarist Steve Howe, who also served as producer, described the album as an effort to continue moving the spirit of YES forward rather than recreating the past.
The album artwork was created by longtime YES visual collaborator Roger Dean alongside Freya Dean.
