The longtime Blue Öyster Cult drummer and songwriter continues the decades-spanning Imaginos mythology through a multimedia graphic novel experience tied to ‘Imaginos II – Bombs Over Germany’
Albert Bouchard, founding member of Blue Öyster Cult, has announced the release of the second interactive graphic novel connected to the long-running “Imaginos” mythology, continuing one of the most ambitious conceptual narratives associated with the band’s history.
The new release, “Imaginos II”, expands upon the storyline developed across Albert Bouchard’s solo album “Imaginos II – Bombs Over Germany”, transforming the music into a multimedia graphic novel experience combining visual storytelling, interactive content, music integration, and video material.
The “Imaginos” concept traces its origins back decades through the creative vision of lyricist and producer Sandy Pearlman, whose elaborate mythology became intertwined with the evolution of Blue Öyster Cult throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
Across multiple albums and reinterpretations, the story evolved into one of the most complex conceptual narratives connected to American hard rock and progressive heavy music.
As one of the founding architects behind the project, Albert Bouchard continued developing the mythology through:
“Re Imaginos”
“Imaginos II – Bombs Over Germany”
“Imaginos III – Mutant Reformation”
with a fourth chapter reportedly in development.
The new interactive graphic novel follows the second portion of the Imaginos storyline while integrating all fourteen songs from “Imaginos II – Bombs Over Germany.”
Rather than functioning as a traditional comic adaptation, the project connects readers directly to:
embedded music content
exclusive videos
interactive visual elements
digital album access
allowing the narrative and music to function together as one immersive experience.
According to Albert Bouchard, the project represents the most complete interpretation of the Imaginos universe released so far.
To accompany the release, Bouchard additionally shared the complete video for “Three Sisters”, featuring Buck Dharma of Blue Öyster Cult.
The song itself dates back to sessions connected to the “Fire of Unknown Origin” era and was originally intended for a later Blue Öyster Cult release before eventually becoming part of the expanded Imaginos storyline.
Throughout his career with Blue Öyster Cult, Albert Bouchard contributed as:
drummer
songwriter
vocalist
during the band’s classic era, which produced albums and songs including:
“(Don’t Fear) The Reaper”
“Burnin’ For You”
“Godzilla”
“Astronomy”
“Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll”
The Imaginos material later became deeply connected to the broader mythology surrounding the band’s catalog and legacy.
The current Imaginos series includes:
“Re Imaginos”
“Imaginos II – Bombs Over Germany”
“Imaginos III – Mutant Reformation”
with all releases currently available through Deko Entertainment.
Across decades of recordings, conceptual albums, and evolving interpretations, the “Imaginos” storyline became one of the most unusual and expansive narrative projects connected to classic American hard rock.
While initially rooted in the creative world surrounding Blue Öyster Cult, the saga has continued evolving through Albert Bouchard’s solo work, now extending into interactive graphic novels and multimedia storytelling formats.
With the release of the new “Imaginos II” graphic novel, Albert Bouchard continues expanding one of the most enduring conceptual worlds associated with Blue Öyster Cult, bridging classic rock mythology, visual storytelling, and modern multimedia presentation through the evolving Imaginos saga.
