Michael Sweet describes the new song as a blend of the band’s classic 1980s sound, later-era heaviness, and the modern approach that continues to define Stryper more than four decades into their career
STRYPER have released their new single “I’m Alright (I’m Okay)” alongside an official lyric video, marking the latest chapter in a career that has spanned more than four decades since the band's emergence as one of the most recognizable names in Christian heavy metal.
Rockum previously featured an exclusive interview with Michael Sweet, where the STRYPER frontman discussed his career, songwriting, and ongoing projects. More recently, Rockum also covered Sweet's latest solo release in Michael Sweet of Stryper Releases 'The Master Plan' Album Out Now via Frontiers Music Srl.
The new song arrives as the group prepares for an extensive series of live appearances across the United States, Europe, and Puerto Rico throughout 2026.
According to vocalist and guitarist Michael Sweet, the track was written with longtime fans in mind while maintaining a connection to the band's present-day sound.
Sweet described the song as a combination of elements associated with different eras of STRYPER's career, bringing together characteristics of the band's mid-1980s material, the heavier direction explored in the early 1990s, and their more recent work.
Lyrically, “I’m Alright (I’m Okay)” centers on perseverance, resilience, and maintaining faith during difficult circumstances, themes that have remained central to much of STRYPER's catalog since the band's formation.
More than forty years after their debut, STRYPER continue to maintain an active recording and touring schedule while remaining one of the most commercially successful and recognizable bands to emerge from the Christian metal movement.
Throughout their career, the band built an international following through albums such as:
The Yellow and Black Attack (1984)
Soldiers Under Command (1985)
To Hell with the Devil (1986)
In God We Trust (1988)
Against the Law (1990)
while continuing to release new material well into the 21st century.

Since emerging from the Southern California metal scene in the early 1980s, STRYPER became one of the most commercially successful Christian metal bands in history. Their combination of melodic heavy metal, arena-ready songwriting, and openly faith-based lyrics helped them reach mainstream audiences while establishing a lasting presence within both the hard rock and metal communities.
With “I’m Alright (I’m Okay),” STRYPER continue adding new material to a catalog that now spans more than four decades. The single reflects the band's ongoing commitment to melodic heavy metal while revisiting themes of perseverance and conviction that have remained part of their identity since the beginning.
