The German modern metal band unveil the third single from their upcoming Napalm Records release while expanding the dark theatrical world introduced on ‘The Dead Don't Die’
DOMINUM have released their new single and official music video for “Dark Melodies”, offering another preview of the band's upcoming album “Night Is Calling”, scheduled for release on July 3, 2026 through Napalm Records.
The song follows the previously released singles “Doctor Doctor” and “Night Is Calling”, continuing the band's blend of modern metal, theatrical horror imagery, and melodic songwriting.
Rockum previously covered the album campaign in Dominum Unveil 'Doctor Doctor' Video Ahead of 'Night Is Calling' Album and 2026 European Tour.
Unlike some of the heavier tracks associated with the band's catalog, “Dark Melodies” adopts a slower and more atmospheric approach. Built around a waltz-time structure, the song combines melodic arrangements, dramatic orchestration, and the distinctive vocal performance of frontman Felix Heldt, better known to fans as Dr. Dead.
According to Dr. Dead, the song explores the idea of melodies that linger in the mind and gradually become impossible to ignore. The lyrical narrative follows an increasingly persistent presence that blurs the line between imagination, memory, and obsession.
“Night Is Calling” follows the success of “The Dead Don't Die” (2024), an album that reached the Top 10 of the German album charts and helped establish Dominum as one of the most visible newer names in European modern metal.
Produced by Felix Heldt and mixed by Jacob Hansen, the new album expands the band's horror-inspired universe through thirteen tracks that combine heavy guitar-driven arrangements with theatrical storytelling and cinematic presentation.
Among the album's notable moments is the title track “Night Is Calling”, which features a guest appearance from members of Battle Beast. The record also includes a reinterpretation of Michael Jackson's classic song “Thriller.”
