A.A. WILLIAMS has released "Solstice", her third full-length studio album and the latest chapter in a body of work that has steadily expanded beyond the boundaries of post-rock, atmospheric metal, folk-influenced songwriting and cinematic soundscapes.

Rockum previously covered the album's single in A.A. Williams Shares 'Poison' Video and Details 'Solstice' Album Ahead of June Release, which introduced the opening track and provided an early look at the record before its release.

Released through RPM, "Solstice" follows "Forever Blue" (2020) and "As The Moon Rests" (2022), continuing the evolution of a songwriter whose music has become known for balancing heaviness and restraint, intimacy and scale, often within the same composition.

Across eleven tracks, the album explores contrasts between light and darkness, strength and vulnerability, and destruction and renewal. The record combines distorted guitars, string arrangements and layered atmospheres with the distinctive vocal approach that has become central to Williams' work since her debut recordings.

According to information released with the album, "Solstice" was shaped by years of international touring, creative collaborations and musical experimentation. The record reflects experiences accumulated across multiple projects while continuing the emotional and atmospheric approach that has defined Williams' catalogue.

The album arrives after a period that saw Williams expand her audience through extensive touring and a growing presence across both heavy music and alternative music circles. Rather than focusing on a single genre, her work has consistently moved between post-rock, doom-influenced textures, ambient passages and singer-songwriter traditions.

Since making her live debut at Roadburn Festival following the release of her self-titled EP, A.A. Williams has developed an international profile through headline performances and tours alongside artists including Cult Of Luna, Explosions In The Sky, Russian Circles, Sleep Token and The Sisters Of Mercy.

Her touring history has included appearances across Europe and beyond, while also establishing herself as a headline artist, including a performance at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall within the Southbank Centre.

The releases of "Forever Blue" and "As The Moon Rests" helped establish Williams as one of the notable voices within a generation of artists combining atmospheric, folk-influenced and heavy musical elements. Additional recognition followed through a session recorded at the legendary BBC Maida Vale Studios.

Outside her studio albums, Williams has released several projects that further expanded her musical catalogue.

Among them was "Exit In Darkness", a collaborative single with Japanese post-rock group MONO. During the pandemic period she also released "Songs From Isolation", a collection of cover songs recorded during lockdown that received praise from Robert Smith of The Cure and Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins.

Another notable release was "arco" (2021), a project that reimagined her debut EP using string arrangements instead of rock instrumentation, drawing directly from her classical music background and training.

Across studio albums, collaborations, reinterpretations and live performances, A.A. Williams has built a catalogue that resists easy categorization. Her work has consistently moved between heavy and delicate musical expressions while maintaining a recognizable artistic identity centered on atmosphere, emotion and dynamic contrast.

With "Solstice", A.A. Williams adds another chapter to a catalogue that has evolved through international touring, collaborations and experimentation. Positioned between the foundations established on "Forever Blue" and "As The Moon Rests", the album continues her exploration of contrasting moods and expansive musical textures while marking a new stage in her artistic development.
