Episode 321 features new music from Evergrey, Armored Saint, DevilDriver and Metalite, closing with an exclusive interview with Tarja Turunen about Frisson Noir.
The Rockum Radio Show Episode 321 aired this week featuring new releases from Tarja, Lex Legion, Europe, Voivod and DevilDriver, alongside an exclusive interview with Tarja Turunen discussing her new album Frisson Noir.
The program opens with Tarja and "The Trace Outlives", the second single from Frisson Noir, introducing a release cycle that also includes appearances by Dani Filth, Marko Hietala and Chad Smith. The song serves as the entry point to a special edition that later concludes with a full interview with the Finnish singer.
The first segment continues with Xandria and "Colours", taken from the upcoming album Eclipse, followed by Mortemia and "I Put a Spell on You", part of Morten Veland’s ongoing The Cover Collab Sessions series featuring vocalist Minniva. Sinner also appear with "Wait", offering another preview of their final studio album Boom Bang Goodbye.
Metalite contribute "In Case of Emergency", introducing material from their upcoming album Discovery, while Evergrey present "A Burning Flame", featuring Mikael Stanne and taken from Architects of a New Weave. The segment closes with Stormhammer and "Wrath of the Hammer", continuing the rollout of the band’s forthcoming studio release.
The second segment opens with Lex Legion and "Gypsy Tears", showcasing the new project featuring Andy LaRocque, Mikkey Dee, Hal Patino, Pete Blakk and Nils K. Rue. The song arrives shortly after Rockum’s recent interview with Andy LaRocque discussing both the band and his long-running work with King Diamond.
Armored Saint follow with "Every Man, Any Man", taken from Emotion Factory Reset, while Dominum present "Dark Melodies" from their upcoming album Night Is Calling. Accept revisit one of their signature songs with a new version of "Fast as a Shark", featuring Phil Anselmo, Kirk Hammett, Billy Sheehan and Mikkey Dee.
The show also includes Rachel Bolan’s solo single "Memory", taken from Gargoyle of the Garden State, before closing the segment with Europe and "The Cult of Ignorance", introducing material from the upcoming album Come This Madness.
The third part begins with DevilDriver and "Dead in the Water", another preview of Strike and Kill. August Burns Red continue with "Sonic Salvation", part of the band’s recent Season of Surrender cycle.
The program also highlightsRuin and "The Perfect Crime". The band features musicians including Samuel "Yuyin" Ruiz and veteran guitarist Felix "Cat" Silva, considered one of the most representative guitarists from the southern part of the American continent. Their appearance on the program reflects a project built around experienced musicians who believe in what they do, a factor that continues to motivate their development within the metal scene.
Canadian progressive metal pioneers Voivod close the segment with "The Unknown Knows (Symphonique Live)", recorded with the Quebec Symphony Orchestra and included on the new live release Symphonique.
The final portion of the program focuses on Tarja. The special segment begins with "At Sea", one of the central compositions from Frisson Noir and a collaboration featuring Dani Filth of Cradle of Filth.
