The Norwegian hard rock band featuring Enslaved guitarist Arve "Ice Dale" Isdal return with their eighth studio album and a new European tour following 'Blackout' and 'Devil's Bell'
AUDREY HORNE have announced their eighth studio album, "Achilles", scheduled for release on September 4, 2026 via Napalm Records.
The announcement arrives alongside the release of "Insanity", the first single from the album, accompanied by an official music video.
Over the last two decades, Audrey Horne have established themselves as one of Norway's most recognized hard rock bands, combining classic rock influences with modern heavy rock songwriting. The new album follows "Blackout" (2018) and "Devil's Bell" (2022), continuing a catalogue that began with the band's award-winning debut in 2005.
"Insanity" was the first song written for "Achilles" and serves as the album's introduction.
According to the band, the song was built around elements that have long defined the Audrey Horne sound, including dual-guitar harmonies, a prominent chorus and a dynamic middle section.
Lyrically, vocalist Toschie explained that the song was inspired by Iron Maiden's "Hallowed Be Thy Name", exploring what might have occurred before the events described in that classic composition.
The release is accompanied by an official music video that introduces the visual identity of the new album cycle.
"Achilles" contains eleven songs and continues Audrey Horne's blend of hard rock, classic heavy metal and melodic songwriting.
According to information released by the band, the album balances heavier material with more melodic and progressive compositions while maintaining the group's established approach to songcraft.
The title track, "Achilles", opens the album and combines driving guitar work with lyrics inspired by contemporary social division and polarization.
Elsewhere, "God Damn Beautiful" draws inspiration from the tradition of classic hard rock and features bassist Espen Lien on lead vocals, while closing track "New Star Falling" highlights the more melodic side of the band's sound.
