Colorado technical death metal band share new performance video from 'The Ossuary Lens' as original vocalist Ezra Haynes continues his return to the Allegaeon lineup
ALLEGAEON have released a new performance video for "Dark Matter Dynamics", a track taken from the band's latest album "The Ossuary Lens", available now through Metal Blade Records.
The song features guest contributions from guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Adrian Bellue and arrives shortly before Allegaeon's scheduled appearance at Flatline Fest in Denver, Colorado.
Rockum previously covered the announcement of the album in Allegaeon To Release The Ossuary Lens Full-Length April 4th On Metal Blade Records, introducing the band's seventh studio album and the return of original vocalist Ezra Haynes.
According to guitarist Greg Burgess, "Dark Matter Dynamics" provided an opportunity to incorporate his interest in steel-string acoustic music into Allegaeon's technical death metal framework.
The song also features a collaboration with Adrian Bellue, whose acoustic guitar work contributes significantly to the composition's identity. Burgess described the collaboration as a particularly meaningful creative experience and highlighted the combination of acoustic-driven arrangements and Allegaeon's established sound.
Vocalist Ezra Haynes noted that Bellue has become a close friend of the band in recent years and confirmed that Allegaeon will perform the song live alongside him during their appearance at Flatline Fest.
Lyrically and musically, "Dark Matter Dynamics" continues Allegaeon's long-standing fascination with scientific themes while introducing a broader dynamic range through atmospheric passages and acoustic instrumentation placed alongside the band's characteristic technical riffing.
The performance video for "Dark Matter Dynamics" was filmed by Kyle Lamar and focuses on the musicianship behind the composition, highlighting both the acoustic and heavier elements that define the track.
Rather than presenting a narrative concept, the video emphasizes the interaction between the performers and showcases the arrangement's contrast between intricate acoustic passages and technical death metal aggression.
Released earlier this year through Metal Blade Records, "The Ossuary Lens" marks a significant chapter in Allegaeon's history as the first album to feature the return of original vocalist Ezra Haynes since his departure following "Elements Of The Infinite" in 2015.
The album was recorded with producer Dave Otero at Flatline Audio in Denver, Colorado. It represents the sixth collaboration between Allegaeon and Otero, continuing a working relationship that has defined much of the band's recorded output.
While maintaining the technical complexity that has characterized Allegaeon's music since its formation, the album also places greater emphasis on melody and dynamic contrast, elements that are prominently showcased on "Dark Matter Dynamics."

Formed in Colorado, Allegaeon have become one of the leading names in modern technical death metal through a combination of progressive songwriting, scientific and philosophical themes, and a balance between extreme musicianship and memorable compositions.
Across albums such as "Fragments Of Form And Function", "Elements Of The Infinite", "Proponent For Sentience", "Apoptosis", and "Damnum", the band has steadily expanded its musical vocabulary while maintaining a recognizable identity within the technical death metal genre.
The return of Ezra Haynes on "The Ossuary Lens" reconnects the band with an important chapter of its history while continuing the musical evolution established over the past decade.
The release of "Dark Matter Dynamics" highlights another dimension of The Ossuary Lens, combining Allegaeon's technical foundation with acoustic textures and collaborative musicianship. As the band prepares for its Flatline Fest appearance, the track offers a representative example of the broader musical scope explored throughout the album.
