Five Finger Death Punch Announce Legacy Album And Release 'De Oppresso Liber' Video

Five Finger Death Punch have announced Legacy, the band’s tenth studio album. The digital version is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026, with CD, vinyl and cassette editions scheduled for September 18, 2026.

The announcement arrives with “De Oppresso Liber”, a new song and video from Legacy. The album also includes “Eye Of The Storm”, which was released as the first single from the record and was previously covered by Rockum in Five Finger Death Punch Release 'Eye Of The Storm' and Announce 20th Anniversary World Tour.

According to guitarist Zoltan Bathory, “De Oppresso Liber” is connected to the meaning of the phrase as a motto and to the idea of standing in defense of others.

“‘De Oppresso Liber’ is more than just a motto,” Bathory said. “It's a calling. It's a philosophy. It represents a willingness to stand between danger and those who cannot defend themselves. Throughout human history, there have always been people who were drawn to accept that responsibility. This song is our way of paying respect to that mindset.”

Five Finger Death Punch released an official video for “De Oppresso Liber” as part of the Legacy album announcement.

Legacy is the tenth studio album from Five Finger Death Punch. The press release frames the record around the band’s twentieth anniversary period and its history from formation in 2005 through the release of The Way Of The Fist in 2007.

Speaking about the album title, Zoltan Bathory connected Legacy to the band’s history and its relationship with listeners.

“Every album is a snapshot of who we were at that particular moment in time, and Legacy is exactly what the title suggests,” Bathory said. “It's a reflection on the journey, the lessons, the victories, the struggles, and everything we've experienced over the last two decades.”

Bathory also described that history as something shared between the band and its audience.

“What makes that journey meaningful is that we didn't make it alone. We traveled this road alongside millions of fans around the world and somehow became part of each other's lives. That's an incredible thing to reflect on twenty years later.”

Vocalist Ivan Moody said the album is connected to the band’s anniversary while also pointing toward future material.

“At the same time, Legacy isn't about looking backward. 20 years is a milestone, not a destination. We're incredibly proud of this record because it captures everything people love about Five Finger Death Punch while also pointing toward where we're headed next.”

Moody also described the band’s approach to long-term goals.

“Our philosophy has always been that this journey doesn't come with a self-imposed ceiling. Every goal we've reached simply revealed another horizon beyond it. We never believed the sky was the limit; if anything, it's where the true journey begins. Here's to our shared legacy.”

“Eye Of The Storm” was released as the first single from Legacy. According to the press release, the track reached the Top 5 at Rock Radio and generated more than 3.9 million Spotify streams and 1.6 million YouTube views on its official lyric video.

The press release also cites coverage from Revolver and Loudwire. Revolver described “Eye Of The Storm” as “Huge” and highlighted its combination of metal chugs, melody and lyrics connected to fear, regret, burdens and inner peace. Loudwire described the song as “a driving, furious banger” in relation to the album cycle.

Five Finger Death Punch will begin the first leg of the 20th Anniversary World Tour across North America with Cody Jinks and Eva Under Fire. The North American leg is produced by Live Nation and runs from July 20, 2026 at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey through October 23, 2026 at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia.

The press release also lists a 2027 UK and European leg with Lamb Of God and Bleed From Within. That run begins on January 16, 2027 in Manchester, United Kingdom and ends on February 22, 2027 in Helsinki, Finland.

The press release states that a portion of ticket sales from the 2026 North American Tour will benefit high-performance programs for U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes as they prepare for international competition connected to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Brendan Quirk, President and CEO of USA Cycling, said the support will assist the organization’s BMX Racing and BMX Freestyle programs.

“The support from Five Finger Death Punch means the world to us and our BMX programs,” Quirk said. “As a nonprofit National Governing Body that receives no government funding, we're already at a disadvantage compared to many of the world's leading cycling nations as we prepare for the home Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2028. We're working to raise awareness of that reality and the challenges it creates for our athletes.”

Corinne Shigemoto, CEO of USA Judo, connected the band’s support to expanded high-performance programming ahead of LA28.

“We are sincerely grateful to Zoltan and Five Finger Death Punch for their generous support of our athlete programs,” Shigemoto said. “Judo has played a meaningful role in Zoltan's life, and his decision to give back to the sport in this way reflects a deep commitment to its future.
