HARLOTT have announced Exsequiis, a new full-length album scheduled for release on September 11 through Metal Blade Records. The band have also released the video for “Trial By Liar,” the first single from the record.

Exsequiis arrives after a six-year gap following Detritus Of The Final Age, released in 2020. The album continues the Australian band’s path through high-speed thrash metal, guitar-driven arrangements and lyrics focused on the current social climate.

“Trial By Liar” is the first single from Exsequiis. According to HARLOTT, the song addresses truth, accountability and the way information is handled in the present day.

“Truth doesn't appear to matter anymore and there aren't any consequences for anything,” the band stated. “There is a war on information raging and we yearn for the day when judgement is met on these perpetrators.”

HARLOTT released the official video for “Trial By Liar.”

Exsequiis is the new full-length album from HARLOTT. The source material describes the record as denser and harsher than previous releases, with a focus on guitar work, momentum and lyrics aimed at a divided world.

The band connected Exsequiis to the exploratory process that began on Detritus Of The Final Age.

“Detritus... was a great experience in digging out sounds and ideas that we would have been too trepidant to explore,” the band explained. “For Exsequiis, we went further into that, but with the confidence that it would work as it had done before.”

The album opens with “Incipiam,” described in the source material as an introductory guitar fanfare, before moving into “Void.” Other tracks referenced in the album description include “Messiah Simplex,” “Vice Borne,” “The God That Knows No Name,” “Kleptogenesis,” “A Still More Glorious Dawn Awaits,” “The Joyful Stain,” “Endling” and the title track “Exsequiis.”

The source material also highlights the guitar work of vocalist/guitarist Andrew Hudson and guitarist Leigh Bartley as part of the band’s sound on the record.

HARLOTT formed in Melbourne, Australia. The source material notes that the band name was chosen by four teenagers around 20 years ago, partly because it would look good on a black T-shirt.

The band released Origin in 2013, followed by Proliferation in 2015, Extinction in 2017 and Detritus Of The Final Age in 2020.

The press material presents Exsequiis as the next stage in that progression, with a continued emphasis on speed, tension, guitar work and lyrics rooted in real-world conflict rather than fantasy themes.

The source material also includes a comment from Brian Hopp of Cephalic Carnage, who praised the band’s riffs, grooves, melodies, leads and vocals.

LINEUP

Andrew Hudson — guitar, vocals

Tom Richards — bass, vocals

Leigh Bartley — guitar

Glen Trayhern — drums

Through “Trial By Liar,” HARLOTT introduce Exsequiis with a song centered on truth, consequence and information conflict. The album also documents the band’s first full-length since Detritus Of The Final Age, connecting the Melbourne thrash metal group’s earlier catalog to a new Metal Blade Records release and a September 2026 European live schedule.
