The Arizona thrash metal veterans will release Rats In The Temple on August 28, 2026 through Napalm Records, with “Harvesting The Hate” issued as the second single
Flotsam And Jetsam have released “Harvesting The Hate,” the second single and video from their upcoming album Rats In The Temple, scheduled for release on August 28, 2026 through Napalm Records.
The new single follows the title track, “Rats In The Temple,” and gives another look at the album’s thrash metal direction ahead of its release.
“Harvesting The Hate” opens Rats In The Temple and is described in the source material as a forceful track built around machine-gun kick patterns and standout guitar work from Michael Gilbert and Steve Conley.
Vocalist Eric A.K. Knutson described the song as a direct confrontation with the source of personal negativity.
“Another heavy, dramatic beast of a song from our arsenal of madness,” Knutson said. “This one asks you to look in the mirror, to find the true problem in your life. And stop harvesting the hate!”
Flotsam And Jetsam released the official video for “Harvesting The Hate.”
The video continues the album cycle that began with “Rats In The Temple,” positioning the band’s next release around aggression, precision and classic thrash metal force.
Rats In The Temple opens with “Harvesting The Hate” and “Damnation,” before moving into the thrash-focused “Absolution.”
The source material highlights the guitar work of Michael Gilbert and Steve Conley across tracks such as “Blame The Knife,” “Rats In The Temple,” “The Ghost Behind My Door” and “First On The Spike.”
The rhythm section of drummer Ken Mary and bassist William Bodily is also emphasized, especially on “A Taste For War,” which the source material describes as an anti-war anthem.
Other songs mentioned in the album description include “The Edge Of Nowhere,” “Last Rites,” “Her Blood Your Pain,” “Anthem For The Broken” and “Not Going Down That Way.”
