The guitar legend will release Hell Or High Water on November 13 through Music Theories Recordings/Artone Label Group, with “Now Or Never” opening the album cycle
Yngwie Malmsteen has announced his new studio album Hell Or High Water, scheduled for release on November 13, 2026 through Music Theories Recordings/Artone Label Group.
The guitarist has also released the album’s first single, “Now Or Never,” giving listeners the first look at the next chapter in his long-running neoclassical hard rock and metal catalog.
Known for reshaping the language of electric guitar through speed, classical phrasing, harmonic control and high-drama composition, Yngwie Malmsteen returns with a nine-track album built around focus, discipline and an uninterrupted writing process.
“Now Or Never” introduces Hell Or High Water with palm-muted riffing, baroque melodic movement, soaring vocals and the kind of guitar precision associated with Yngwie Malmsteen’s signature style.
The track works as a direct entry point into the album, combining heavy riff structure with neoclassical lead guitar and dramatic vocal lines.
As the first single, “Now Or Never” sets the tone for a record that moves between vocal-driven songs and instrumental pieces.
Hell Or High Water follows Parabellum, released in 2021, and continues the working method Yngwie Malmsteen developed during that period.
Instead of writing while moving through the usual cycle of recording and touring, Malmsteen focused at home for months, building a large body of material before selecting the strongest pieces for the album.
According to the source material, he worked on the music over an eight-month period and had around 80 to 90 tracks completed before narrowing the album down to nine songs.
That process gives Hell Or High Water a concentrated structure, with each track selected from a much larger creative pool.

“(On The) Battlefield” and “Eye For An Eye” place more focus on Malmsteen’s vocal performances, while “Antikythera” and “Beyond Zeta Reticuli” continue the album’s instrumental direction with titles inspired by scientific discovery and cosmic imagination.
The closing track, “Father,” is one of the album’s most personal moments. The song was written in tribute to Malmsteen’s father, who passed away in 2025.
