The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame icon will focus on physical therapy and healing after canceling September dates in Costa Mesa and Louisville
The announcement affects two September performances by Joan Jett And The Blackhearts: a September 5 show at Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa, California, and a September 24 appearance at Bourbon & Beyond in Louisville, Kentucky.
According to a statement shared by Jett’s team, the singer and guitarist will now begin the necessary healing process and focus on physical therapy.
The statement said that Jett underwent orthopedic surgery following a recent injury and, after consultation with her doctors, would not be able to perform the upcoming September shows.
Her team also noted that Jett hates to disappoint fans, but will use this time to heal and continue physical therapy, with the intention of returning to concerts in the future.

Pacific Amphitheatre, where Joan Jett And The Blackhearts were scheduled to perform on September 5, has announced that Cheap Trick will perform in Jett’s place, with X opening the show.
Fans who wish to attend the updated Cheap Trick and X concert can use their existing tickets. Those seeking refunds have been advised to contact their point of purchase.
Jett was also scheduled to appear at Bourbon & Beyond on September 24, the opening day of the four-day festival at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville.
Joan Jett first rose to prominence in the 1970s as a founding member of The Runaways, one of the most important all-female rock bands of that decade.
After that chapter, she built a lasting career with Joan Jett And The Blackhearts, becoming one of rock’s most recognizable figures through songs such as “I Love Rock ’n Roll,” “Bad Reputation” and “I Hate Myself For Loving You.”
Joan Jett And The Blackhearts were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 2015.
In recent years, Jett has remained active with the band. Joan Jett And The Blackhearts released Changeup, their first acoustic album, in 2022, followed by the Mindsets EP in 2023.
