KISS Destroys Anaheim '76 Gets Limited Japan SHM-CD Release From Universal Music Japan

KISS will release Destroys Anaheim ’76 as a limited Japanese SHM-CD edition through Universal Music Japan on August 21, 2026.

The live album commemorates the 50th anniversary of the band’s historic August 20, 1976 concert at Anaheim Stadium in Anaheim, California, a performance considered one of the most important concerts in the KISS story.

For collectors, the Japanese edition carries particular value. Destroys Anaheim ’76 is being issued as a 1CD limited SHM-CD, manufactured in Japan and packaged with a softpack case, slipcase and a 60-page booklet featuring liner notes, previously unreleased photos and memorabilia images.

The release also marks the first time this historic Anaheim performance is being issued as an official work for the general public.

Destroys Anaheim ’76 captures KISS during the band’s 1976 live peak.

On August 20, 1976, KISS performed at Anaheim Stadium before more than 42,000 fans, the largest audience the band had played to at that point in its career.

The concert took place during the era of the Spirit Of ’76 Tour, also known as the Destroyer Tour, when KISS were expanding from theatrical hard rock phenomenon into one of the biggest live attractions of the decade.

The album is based on the original multitrack tapes recorded that night by Eddie Kramer. For this release, Kramer newly mixed the Anaheim concert from those original recordings.

This is not a standard live compilation.

KISS IN 1976

The Anaheim Stadium concert came during one of the most important years in KISS history.
