The 2,000-copy Experience Vinyl collector’s edition benefits Adopt the Arts Foundation and features Corey Taylor, Lzzy Hale, Glenn Hughes, Nuno Bettencourt, Charlie Starr, Phil X, Steve Stevens and Robert DeLeo
Paul Rodgers and Geezer Butler are honored on Sound & Vision Live, a limited-edition all-star double vinyl album produced by Matt Sorum.
The album was recorded during the inaugural Palm Springs Sound & Vision Awards, held on March 2, 2026 at the historic Plaza Theatre in Palm Springs.
The initial pressing of Sound & Vision Live will be limited to 2,000 double-vinyl albums, priced at $99.98. Proceeds from the release benefit Adopt the Arts Foundation, the music education nonprofit co-founded by Matt Sorum and Jane Lynch.
For Rockum, the strongest angle is the collector value.
Sound & Vision Live is not only a live album. It is a limited physical-media release built around rock history, all-star performances, vinyl packaging, philanthropy and a companion concert film.
The album will be available as a limited-edition all-star double vinyl pressing. Of the total 2,000-copy run, 250 Plaza Theatre Collector’s Editions will be available for the September 13 record release celebration in Palm Springs.
Those Plaza Theatre Collector’s Editions will be pressed on color vinyl and feature artwork unavailable on the standard online release.
The remaining copies will be available exclusively through Experience Vinyl, with the official pre-sale beginning on August 3, 2026.
Paul Rodgers is honored through a legacy connected to Free and Bad Company, while Geezer Butler is honored through his foundational role in Black Sabbath.
That pairing gives Sound & Vision Live a strong classic rock and heavy metal center.
Rodgers represents one of rock’s defining vocal traditions, with songs tied to Free and Bad Company. Butler represents the bass and lyric foundation of Black Sabbath, one of the essential bands in the history of heavy metal.
Together, the two honorees connect blues-based hard rock, classic rock, arena rock and heavy metal inside one collector-focused release.
The recording features performances by Paul Rodgers and Geezer Butler, joined by an all-star lineup of musicians from rock, metal, hard rock and classic rock history.

Every participating artist donated time and talent in support of Adopt the Arts Foundation and its mission to restore and sustain music education in underserved public elementary schools.
Matt Sorum produced Sound & Vision Live after originally having the evening recorded and filmed to preserve the experience.
Once the performances were reviewed, the night became something larger: a physical release designed to capture the energy of the room while raising support for music education.
That context matters. Sound & Vision Live is not a standard tribute album assembled in a studio. It comes from a live event, with artists gathered in one room to honor Paul Rodgers and Geezer Butler while supporting a nonprofit cause.
For collectors, that gives the album a documentary quality. It preserves a one-night event and turns it into a limited object connected to rock history, charity and physical music culture.
Experience Vinyl is donating its services so proceeds from album sales directly benefit Adopt the Arts Foundation.
The release also received philanthropic support to complete the album and its companion concert film.
Founded in 2012 by Matt Sorum and Emmy Award-winning actress Jane Lynch, Adopt the Arts Foundation supports music education in underserved public elementary schools.
The Foundation now serves more than 4,000 students annually throughout Los Angeles and the Coachella Valley, providing music instruction, instruments, curriculum, teacher support, artist mentorship and performance opportunities.
Sound & Vision Live was recorded by Kemble Walters and Miguel Sosa.
The album was mixed by Kemble Walters at Goodnoise Studios in Palm Springs.
The vinyl mastering was handled by Grammy-winning mastering engineer Howie Weinberg and Will Borza.
The album artwork and liner notes were created by photographer and creative director Glen Wexler.
The deluxe package features archival photography, original artwork and extensive liner notes celebrating the performances and the legacies of Paul Rodgers and Geezer Butler.
The official Sound & Vision Live Record Release Celebration will take place on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at the historic Plaza Theatre in Palm Springs.
The event will include two screenings of the companion concert film.
The film combines performances from the March 2 Sound & Vision Awards with behind-the-scenes rehearsal footage and commentary from Matt Sorum.
A 3:00 p.m. Community Screening will welcome Palm Springs Unified School District students and families.
A 7:00 p.m. Public Screening & Record Release Celebration will include a live conversation with Matt Sorum and a special guest to be announced, along with exclusive merchandise and silent auction opportunities benefiting Adopt the Arts.
