The Country Music Hall of Fame duo brings its 1991 debut to vinyl for the first time on October 23 as a signed edition sells out and six new RIAA certifications underline the continuing strength of the Brooks & Dunn catalog
Brooks & Dunn are celebrating the 35th anniversary of their debut album, Brand New Man, with the record’s first-ever official vinyl pressing, scheduled for release on October 23, 2026.
Originally released on August 13, 1991, the 10-song album introduced Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn as a duo and launched a catalog that would become one of the defining bodies of work in modern country music.
The Brand New Man 35th Anniversary Edition is being presented as a limited pressing, finally bringing the album to vinyl more than three decades after its original release.
The official Brooks & Dunn store also offered an autographed vinyl edition signed by Brooks and Dunn for $50. As of August 2026, that version is listed as sold out.
For Brooks & Dunn collectors, the most important detail is simple: Brand New Man has never previously received an official vinyl pressing.
The album arrived in 1991 during an era dominated by cassette and CD formats, leaving one of the duo’s foundational releases absent from the vinyl catalog for 35 years.
That changes with the October 23 anniversary edition.
The official release is described as a limited pressing, while the autographed edition offered through the Brooks & Dunn store adds another collector layer by pairing the first vinyl version of the album with signatures from Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn.
The signed edition selling out before release also shows that the anniversary is attracting interest not simply as a nostalgic reissue, but as a physical catalog item.
Brand New Man was released on August 13, 1991 and contains songs that became central to Brooks & Dunn’s identity, including “Brand New Man,” “My Next Broken Heart,” “Neon Moon” and “Boot Scootin’ Boogie.”
The original album was built around songwriting from Brooks and Dunn alongside collaborators including Don Cook and Chick Rains.
Ronnie Dunn wrote “Neon Moon” and “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” while Brooks, Dunn and Cook share credits across several of the album’s other tracks.
The anniversary announcement also coincided with a special Grand Ole Opry appearance honoring the album and its place in the duo’s career.
Three and a half decades later, the first vinyl pressing turns that history into a new physical release rather than leaving Brand New Man only as a digital, CD and cassette-era catalog title.
The vinyl announcement arrives during another period of measurable activity for the Brooks & Dunn catalog.
On August 7, 2026, the duo announced six new RIAA certifications covering recordings from different stages of their career.
“Red Dirt Road” - 3X Platinum
“Cowgirls Don’t Cry” - 2X Platinum
“Ain’t Nothin’ Bout You” - 2X Platinum
“She’s Not The Cheatin’ Kind” - Platinum
“Hard Workin’ Man” - Platinum
“You’re Gonna Miss Me When I’m Gone” - Platinum
The certifications are particularly relevant to the anniversary story because much of the Brooks & Dunn catalog originated long before streaming became the dominant form of music consumption.
Yet those recordings continue accumulating qualifying U.S. activity decades after their original release cycles.
The combination of the new vinyl edition and RIAA certifications illustrates two different ways an established catalog can remain commercially active.
On one side, Brand New Man is becoming a new physical product for collectors 35 years after its original release.
On the other, older Brooks & Dunn recordings continue accumulating consumption through the modern music market and reaching new certification levels.
That makes the anniversary more than a nostalgic celebration.
It also demonstrates how a successful country catalog can continue finding new audiences through streaming while simultaneously creating demand for physical products aimed at longtime listeners and collectors.

The first vinyl pressing of Brand New Man matters because it fills a genuine gap in the physical Brooks & Dunn catalog.
This is not simply another colored-vinyl variation of an album that has already been pressed repeatedly.
For the first time since its 1991 release, collectors will be able to own an official vinyl edition of the record that launched Brooks & Dunn.
The limited autographed edition adds another layer to that story, while the six new RIAA certifications demonstrate that the wider catalog surrounding the duo continues generating measurable commercial activity.
Together, the anniversary pressing and certification milestones show how a 35-year-old country catalog can remain active simultaneously through vinyl, streaming, collecting and renewed historical attention.
As Brand New Man reaches its 35th anniversary, Brooks & Dunn are giving their 1991 debut something it never received during its original release cycle: an official vinyl pressing. With the limited October 23 edition, a sold-out autographed version and six new RIAA certifications arriving around the same anniversary period, the Brooks & Dunn catalog continues operating as both country music history and an active physical and digital asset more than three decades after the duo first introduced “Neon Moon,” “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” and the songs that started their career.
