The October 23 clear-vinyl deluxe edition preserves the original album alongside rare B-sides, four previously unreleased demos, Amy Winehouse’s handwritten lyrics, unseen photographs and her complete 2007 Paradiso performance
Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black will mark its 20th anniversary with an expanded 3LP clear-vinyl edition arriving on October 23, 2026, bringing together the original album, rare B-sides and demos, previously unreleased recordings and a 2007 concert from Amsterdam’s Paradiso.
The new edition contains four previously unreleased demos and presents Winehouse’s February 8, 2007 performance at Paradiso in Amsterdam in full and on vinyl for the first time. The U.S. edition is currently listed by The Sound of Vinyl at $64.98. The retailer limits purchases to four copies per customer, although no total pressing quantity has been announced.
The package also introduces alternative cover artwork, reproductions of Winehouse’s handwritten lyrics, previously unseen photography by Mischa Richter and Alex Lake - both associated with the original album photography - and newly commissioned liner notes from producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi.
Originally released through Island Records on October 27, 2006, Back to Black was Winehouse’s second and final studio album. Its eleven-track sequence includes “Rehab,” “You Know I’m No Good,” “Back to Black,” “Tears Dry on Their Own” and “Love Is a Losing Game.”
The record became a major commercial breakthrough. In the U.K., it reached No. 1 on the Official Albums Chart and accumulated six weeks at the summit for the original album configuration.
Its impact was also reflected at the 50th Grammy Awards in 2008. Winehouse won five awards that night: Best New Artist; Best Pop Vocal Album for Back to Black; and Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “Rehab.”
The 2026 anniversary edition does not attempt to replace the original album with a newly constructed sequence. Instead, LP1 preserves the original eleven-song record, while LP2 and LP3 expand the archive surrounding the Back to Black period.
The second LP collects material from outside the standard album. Its first side includes Winehouse’s BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge performance of “Valerie”, along with “Monkey Man,” “Hey Little Rich Girl,” “You’re Wondering Now,” “Do Me Good” and “Close to the Front.”
The following side moves deeper into the album’s development through recordings including the original demos of “You Know I’m No Good,” “Me & Mr Jones,” “Back to Black” and “Love Is a Losing Game,” an alternative version of “Just Friends” and an alternative demo of “Tears Dry on Their Own.”
The official anniversary description states that the complete package contains four previously unreleased demos, although it does not separately identify all four as previously unreleased in the published tracklist.
That distinction is worth keeping: the collection contains more than four demo or alternative recordings, but the label specifically describes four of them as previously unreleased.
The third record preserves a performance from Paradiso in Amsterdam on February 8, 2007, during the Back to Black tour. The eleven-song set includes material from the album alongside “Valerie” and a performance combining “He Can Only Hold Her” with Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing).”
The official product description states that the Paradiso performance had never previously been released in full or on vinyl. For the anniversary edition, that concert effectively becomes a third chapter following the original album and the collection of B-sides and demos.

The value of the anniversary set is not simply another pressing of an album that has remained continuously available for two decades. LP1 retains Back to Black as originally released. LP2 collects recordings that show songs from the period in different stages and contexts. LP3 captures Winehouse performing much of that material while the album was still relatively new.
The physical presentation extends that archival approach through the handwritten lyrics, alternative artwork, unseen Richter and Lake photographs and new commentary from Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, two of the producers central to the original record. A separate Back to Black 20 zoetrope LP is also scheduled for October 23, featuring animated imagery of Winehouse in a die-cut sleeve, but the 3LP edition is the version carrying the expanded audio archive.
Twenty years after the album’s original release, this edition therefore documents not only Back to Black itself, but some of the recordings, performances, photographs and working material that surrounded it.
