“Islands in the Stream,” “9 to 5” and two versions of “I Will Always Love You” appear among the tracks currently leading Dolly Parton’s Spotify catalog
Following the death of Dolly Parton at age 80, listeners are returning to a catalog that stretches across more than five decades of country, pop, gospel and collaborations.
On August 25, 2026, Spotify’s Popular section for Parton was led by “Jolene,” followed by her Kenny Rogers duet “Islands in the Stream” and “9 to 5.”
The current top 10 also illustrates how widely Parton’s music continued to travel across generations. Alongside recordings from the 1970s and 1980s are collaborations with Beyoncé and Zach Williams, while two different recordings of “I Will Always Love You” appear simultaneously.

1. “Jolene”
Parton’s 1973 recording currently occupies the No. 1 position. “Jolene” has also become Parton’s biggest Spotify recording by cumulative plays, approaching one billion streams on the platform.
2. “Islands in the Stream” - Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers
The 1983 duet with Kenny Rogers remains one of the defining crossover recordings associated with both singers. Its position at No. 2 is particularly notable following Parton’s death: one of her final social-media posts had commemorated the song and her longtime friendship with Rogers.
3. “9 to 5”
Parton’s title song for the 1980 film 9 to 5 sits at No. 3. The recording became one of her major pop crossovers and remains among her highest-streamed songs on Spotify.
4. “TYRANT” - Beyoncé & Dolly Parton
One of the newest recordings in the top 10 is Beyoncé’s “TYRANT,” which Spotify credits to Beyoncé and Dolly Parton. The track comes from Beyoncé’s 2024 album Cowboy Carter and places Parton’s name alongside recordings released roughly half a century after “Jolene.” Spotify currently lists both artists on the track.
5. “I Will Always Love You” - The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas version
This is not the original 1974 recording. The 3:05 version currently appearing at No. 5 is Parton’s later recording from The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas period, created for the 1982 film adaptation in which she starred.
6. “Here You Come Again (Live)”
The live recording comes from Dolly: Live From London, released in 2009. Spotify lists the performance at 2:58, recorded as part of a set that also included live versions of “Jolene,” “9 to 5,” “Coat of Many Colors” and “I Will Always Love You.”
7. “There Was Jesus” - Zach Williams & Dolly Parton
Parton’s collaboration with Christian singer Zach Williams represents another later chapter in her catalog.
Spotify credits both Williams and Parton on the 3:43 recording, which has accumulated around 100 million streams.
8. “Here You Come Again”
The original studio recording of “Here You Come Again” also appears separately in the top 10. Released in 1977, the song was an important crossover record in Parton’s expansion beyond the traditional country market.
9. “I Will Always Love You”
The second appearance of Parton’s signature composition is the original 1974 recording from the album Jolene. Spotify identifies the recording as the 2:56 version released in 1974.
Its coexistence with the later soundtrack recording means that two different versions of the same Parton composition currently appear among her 10 most popular Spotify tracks.
10. “Coat of Many Colors”
Closing the current top 10 is “Coat of Many Colors,” one of Parton’s most autobiographical songs. Originally released in 1971, it reaches back further than any other recording in the current list and helps connect Spotify listeners with the early Nashville years of her catalog.
The current Spotify ranking offers an interesting snapshot of Parton’s musical legacy.
The oldest songs represented - including “Coat of Many Colors,” “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You” - were recorded more than 50 years ago.
At the same time, “TYRANT” connects her with Beyoncé and “There Was Jesus” with Zach Williams.
And songs such as “Jolene,” “9 to 5” and “Islands in the Stream” continue to occupy the highest positions.
The ranking will change as Spotify listening patterns change. But on the day Dolly Parton’s death was announced, these were the 10 recordings listeners were seeing at the top of her Spotify catalog.
