NECA’s anniversary collection brings The Game of Jaws back with a 15-inch shark alongside Ultimate Sam Quint and Matt Hooper figures and a 3D recreation of Roger Kastel’s legendary movie poster
More than five decades after Jaws changed the summer of 1975, NECA continues to expand its collection based on Steven Spielberg’s classic shark thriller with a mix of action figures, display pieces and a modern recreation of a toy that dates back to the movie’s original year.
The collection was created around the film’s 50th anniversary in 2025 and retains that branding on individual products. In 2026, 51 years after the original film, several pieces remain available directly through NECA while others have already sold out.
The most unusual item is not an action figure. It is the return of The Game of Jaws.
NECA describes its new edition as a modern update of the classic 1975 Game of Jaws.
The centerpiece is a detailed shark measuring approximately 15 inches long. Players must remove objects from inside its belly without triggering the jaws to snap down on the spear. More than 15 removable accessories are included, among them an anchor, boot, fish bones, skull, tire, lantern and glove.
The game is currently listed by NECA at $59.99 USD and was in stock at the time of publication.
For collectors, its connection to an actual Jaws product from 1975 makes it different from a conventional piece of modern movie merchandise: NECA is revisiting a toy concept that appeared during the same year as the film itself.
NECA’s Ultimate Sam Quint figure presents the Orca captain in 7-inch scale.
The figure includes interchangeable heads, hands and arms, along with accessories including gloved hands, machete, rifle, harpoon gun, can and crushed can. It comes in window-box packaging with an opening front flap.
Quint, played by Robert Shaw in the original movie, remains one of the central characters in Jaws alongside Roy Scheider’s Martin Brody and Richard Dreyfuss’ Matt Hooper. Amblin’s official film archive lists Shaw, Scheider and Dreyfuss among the principal cast of Spielberg’s 1975 film.
The Ultimate Quint figure is currently in stock at $34.99.
NECA also produced an Ultimate Matt Hooper (Amity Arrival) figure based on Richard Dreyfuss’ oceanographer.
The 7-inch-scale release includes interchangeable heads, hands and arms, allowing Hooper to appear in either his denim jacket or sweater. Accessories include a scuba tank, fishing hook, shark dart, duffel bag, cup and crushed cup.
The individual Hooper figure was listed at $34.99 but is currently sold out, as is the two-figure Hooper and Quint bundle originally priced at $69.98.
Another piece turns one of the most recognizable movie posters ever produced into a physical display.
NECA’s Jaws 50th Anniversary Poster Series Display Piece is sculpted and painted to reproduce the shark from Roger Kastel’s original poster artwork. The figure has an articulated jaw and sits on a stylized water base with sculpted bubbles.
Its packaging also recreates the original poster composition behind the three-dimensional shark. The display piece is currently listed at $54.99 and remains in stock.
Jaws premiered in 1975, directed by Steven Spielberg from a screenplay by Peter Benchley and Carl Gottlieb.
Its principal cast included Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss and Lorraine Gary, while John Williams composed the score. The film won Academy Awards for music, film editing and sound.
NECA’s current collection approaches that history from several directions. The Ultimate figures reproduce characters from the movie. The poster display turns Kastel’s artwork into a three-dimensional collectible. But The Game of Jaws reaches directly back to 1975 by recreating a product tied to the original era of the film. That makes the collection more than another round of anniversary merchandise.
For collectors who grew up with Jaws - or discovered the film decades later - it brings together both the movie itself and the memorabilia culture that began around it.
