Dino Cazares opens a new studio era for Fear Factory as Milo Silvestro, Pete Webber and Tony Campos make their recording debut together on the new Nuclear Blast single
Fear Factory have released “Roboticist,” the first studio recording from the industrial metal band's current lineup featuring guitarist Dino Cazares, vocalist Milo Silvestro, drummer Pete Webber and bassist Tony Campos.
Released through Nuclear Blast Records after premiering on SiriusXM Liquid Metal, the track marks a significant transition for a version of Fear Factory that had already spent years establishing itself onstage but had yet to release new music together. Nuclear Blast officially describes “Roboticist” as the recording debut of the current lineup.
Silvestro was officially announced as Fear Factory's new vocalist in February 2023, following the departure of longtime frontman Burton C. Bell. He and Webber subsequently joined Cazares on the road, performing material from across the band's catalog before entering this new recording phase.
“Roboticist” remains firmly connected to one of Fear Factory's defining themes: the increasingly complicated relationship between humanity and technology.
That conflict has run through the band's music for decades, particularly across records such as Demanufacture and Obsolete. In 2026, with artificial intelligence becoming part of everyday technological and cultural discussion, the subject is considerably less futuristic than it was when Fear Factory began exploring it during the 1990s.
“The future isn't coming. It's already here. ‘Roboticist’ is the next evolution of Fear Factory,” Cazares said of the new song. He described the track as the beginning of another era for the band, once again built around the collision between man and machine.
“Roboticist” is also Fear Factory's first new song in five years, following the 2021 studio album Aggression Continuum, which contained performances recorded with Bell before his departure.
The new single was produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Damien Rainaud.
It arrives with an official music video directed by Vincente Cordero and produced by Arion Csihar.
The band has not yet formally revealed the complete details of its next album. Nuclear Blast says further information about the upcoming record will be announced soon, so for now “Roboticist” stands as the first official document of Fear Factory's current studio incarnation.
The release also arrives as Fear Factory returns to an extensive touring schedule. The band's European Cybernetic Domination Tour features Hate, Crystal Lake and The Nocturnal Affair and continues through October 10.
Fear Factory will then return to the United States for the Soul Of a New War Machine Tour, co-headlining with Mushroomhead, followed by another U.S. Cybernetic Domination run with Darkest Hour and Brotality through late November.
After more than three decades of albums built around industrial precision, technology and dystopian ideas, “Roboticist” does something more important than simply add another song to the Fear Factory catalog.
It provides the first studio evidence of what the band's current lineup sounds like together.
