The 2016 No. 1 album returns Sept. 25 with anniversary extras, while a limited liquid-filled vinyl edition featuring an exclusive “She’ll Be The One” demo arrives in December
Shawn Mendes will mark the 10th anniversary of his second studio album, Illuminate, with a new expanded edition arriving digitally on September 25, 2026.
The anniversary edition adds previously unreleased material alongside new live recordings of “Treat You Better,” “Ruin” and “Mercy,” captured in New York, Boston and Montreal respectively. Mendes has also indicated that additional anniversary material will be revealed.
A separate limited physical edition produced with Blood Records/Bad World is scheduled for December 18. The package includes a blue liquid-filled LP, a liquid-splatter disc and a turquoise-and-black swirl disc housed in a mirri-board sleeve. It also features an exclusive 2016 demo of “She’ll Be The One” alongside the new live recordings.
Originally released on September 23, 2016 through Island Records, Illuminate debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and also topped the Canadian albums chart. The album includes “Treat You Better,” “Mercy,” “Ruin” and other material that established Mendes’ second major album era.
The anniversary campaign began earlier this year with the 10th anniversary of “Treat You Better,” including a previously unreleased Live From New York recording and limited 7-inch vinyl.
